Morito - destined to become one of the top tapas bars in London.
Morito Tapas Bar

Morito is London’s new tapas bar, located just next door to the acclaimed Moro Restaurant in vibrant Exmouth Market. Famed for bringing Moorish cuisine to London, Sam & Sam Clarke, founders of Moro, opened Morito in August 2010. Given these credentials, it’s destined to become one of the best tapas bars in London.

Morito is a  tapas bar – pure and simple. It’s bright and colourful with a well designed decor. You can sit at little tables or at high stools at the bar. You can also sit outside and savour the atmosphere of Exmouth Market.

At Morito the quality of the tapas is genuinely excellent. You will find the prices are  very reasonable. The most expensive item on the menu is the lamb chops a la plancha at £6.00 a dish. Spanish House wines start from £15 bottle or £2.75 per glass.

Tapas are served all day from 12.30 until 11.00 PM. The menu is authentic and inspired by regional Spanish recipes. Highlights include the divine salt cod croquetas (£4.00) and courgette tortillas (£3.50).

Menu Extracts: The best way to experience the food is to order a selection of dishes (say 6 or 7) to share. There are many delicious choices - Moritos of the house include homemade labneh cheese, prawn tortillas, jamon croquetas and lamb with pine nuts. Traditional Montaditos (tapas on bread) include quail’s egg & jamon and morcilla (black pudding) & padron. There is a selection of salads such as chard, anchovy, pine nuts & raisins or patatas mojo. If you fancy a la plancha dishes, you can select from lamb, gambas, octopus and butifarra (Catalan sausage). The slow range includes lamb tagine, arroz caldero (prawn rice) or traditional chicharrones (crispy pork). Home made bread is always fresh, baked twice daily next door in the Moro oven.

Charming details may catch your eye – the rustic terracotta tapas dishes or the quintessentially regional Spanish wine glasses.

The friendly staff are adept at explaining the Spanish menu, should you have any questions.

Morito is available to hire for private functions on Sunday and Monday.
